Spring snowstorm emotional across Rocky Mountains

A spring snowstorm expected to dump up to several feet of snow along the eastern foothills of CO and WY is getting a late start, but the National Weather Service says snow is expected to start piling up Saturday and Sunday.

Jim Kalina of the National Weather Service in Boulder and Brian Chapman of the National Weather Service in Cheyenne declare rain is changing to snow and temperatures are falling, which could bring heavy, moist snow over the following two days. Up to two feet of snow was reported between Denver and the Continental Divide on Saturday.

Airlines at Denver International Airport canceled about eight hundred forty flights Saturday.

Meanwhile, heavy rain on the Eastern Plains prompted flood warnings in eastern Colorado, but number severe damage has been reported.
