The 22-year-old from London was shot in the head during an obvious armed robbery on the Caribbean island of Trinidad.

Man Charged With Murder Of British Cricketer

A man has been charged with the murder of British cricketer Adrian St John, who was shot deceased in Trinidad last week.

The 22-year-old was killed during an obvious armed robbery as he picked someone up in San Juan on Sunday.

St John, who worked as a recruitment consultant in London and was Capt of the Chris Gayle Cricket Academy, was reportedly on holiday on the island.

Maldon Pascall, twenty-four, has been charged with his murder.

Adrian'south uncle, Ian Campbell, told Sky News that his nephew was a "balanced kid looking forward to a shining future".

He said: "It was a complete shock. He'd passed his degree in philosophy and history and was the first in our family to obtain that distant and we were all very pleased of him.

"He was just loveable. He was the original kind guy. He was a handsome kid, he was tall and handsome and personable. It was his personality that made him do well.

"He was a balanced kid looking forward to a shining future. Cricket was a passion from an early age and he was very excellent at it."

W Indies star Chris Gayle reacted to the news on Twitter: "Such dreary news to hear. My condolences to his family & friends."
