Police found bits of flesh and a pruning saw in the bathroom of a suburban Seattle residence where a single mother-of-three was allegedly dismembered by her date.

Authorities declare John Charlton slice up Ingrid Lyne in the property before driving the 40-year-old'south head and other body parts into the city, where they were found dumped in a homeowner'south recycling bin.

On Tuesday, a judge ordered Charlton, thirty-seven, to be held on $2m bail as prosecutors said he could face a second-degree murder charge.

Charlton, who was arrested on Monday, has a lengthy criminal history.

His parents sought a restraining order against him in two thousand-sixth and he's previous felony convictions for theft and aggravated robbery.

According to Ct documents, he told detectives he'd been dating Ms Lyne, a registered nurse, for about a month.

He said he became so drunk on Friday he couldn't recall how he reached her house after they went to look the Seattle Mariners, "or what transpired when they got there".

Ms Lyne was latest seen on Friday telling friends she was going on a date with Charlton to the baseball game at Safeco Field.

She left her three daughters, aged seven, ten and twelve, with their father overnight.

Her ex-husband, Phil Lyne, realised something was incorrect when she didn't reply the door as he dropped off the children on Saturday morning.

The murdered woman's mother, Jorga Bass, arrived with a key and they entered the residence to discover Ms Lyne'south wallet and phone, though her car was lost from the driveway.

Ms Bass, who shared a phone account with her daughter, noticed repeated calls with a no later traced to Charlton, according to Ct documents.

Ms Bass texted the no on Saturday asking according to about her lost daughter and saying she'd called nine hundred eleven.

Charlton texted back: "911? What'south going on? We went to the Mariner'south game latest night but we didn't stay the night together because she's her kids today."

Ms Bass texted Charlton to declare that a police officer needed to speak to him.

But according to court documents there was no response.
