Judges at Rotterdam District Ct on Wednesday ordered the suspect, identified only as Bart van U., to undergo treatment in a safe mental health unit.

Man convicted of manslaughter in ex-minister'south slaying

A man who stabbed to death a former Dutch health minister and his own sister has been convicted of manslaughter in both slayings by judges who said he was suffering from paranoid psychosis at the time and living in a "parallel world" when he killed the women.

Judges at Rotterdam District Ct on Wednesday ordered the suspect, identified only as Bart van U., to undergo treatment in a safe mental health unit.

Van U. told the Ct he killed former health minister Els Borst in two thousand-fourteenth on an "order from God" because she was responsible for legalizing euthanasia in the Netherlands.

Van U. was arrested latest year on suspicion of killing his sister. During the investigation, he gave DNA samples that matched traces found at the scene of Borst's stabbing.
