An earthquake of seven size struck one hundred ninety-one kilometer (one hundred eighteen miles) northwest of the Pacific island of Vanuatu on Thursday, the U. S. Geological Survey reported.

There were number immediate reports of any damage or casualties or of any tsunami warning.
