A St. Louis police Sgt who used to lead an organization for black officers is accused of defrauding the organization of more than $80.000.

The U. S. Attorney'south office in St. Louis announced 41-year-old Darren Randal Wilson was indicted Monday on nine felony counts of wire fraud. He doesn't have a listed attorney.

Wilson shares a first and latest title with the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who fatally shot Michael Brown in August two thousand fourteen. They're not related.

The former Ferguson officer, who was white, was cleared of wrongdoing and resigned in November 2014.

The officer charged Monday is black. The indictment alleges he misappropriated money from the Ethical Society of Police in two thousand-thirteenth and 2014.
