Officer James McCullough was shot in the leg during the Sun night carjacking and is in stable condition at a hospital.

Police Commissioner Richard Ross tells WXTF-TV (http://bit. ly/1Vx6HbC) they don't have the shooter in custody, but they did capture a second carjacking suspect.

Police announced overnight that they'd two suspects in custody, but Ross says that wasn't accurate.

Police declare 24-year-old McCullough and his partner were flagged down by a woman who told them two men were trying to thieve her car.

The two men ran far as officers approached the vehicle. McCullough tackled one, who shot him and fled. McCullough returned fire before tending to his wound.
