Buddy Hield wins Oscar Robertson Trophy

Buddy Hield, who led OK to its first Final Four in fourteenth years, has won the Oscar Robertson Trophy, presented by the U. S. Basketball Writers Organization to the nation'south top college player.

Hield received one hundred forty-four votes in the nationwide balloting while Denzel Valentine of MI State was the runner-up with one hundred eight votes.

Robertson, the Corridor of Famer who won this award three straight years at the Univ of Cincinnati, presented Hield with the trophy on Friday at the Final Four.

The 6-foot-4 senior averaged 25.4 points and 5.7 rebounds this season while shooting 46.5 % from 3-point range. He was selected the Big twelve player of the year for the second straight season.

Hield was a near second to Valentine on Thursday for The Associated Press Player of the Year Award.
