Yolanda Hadid says she was just as shocked as her fans to memorise that her marriage was over.

During an interview Tuesday on "Look What Happens Live," the "Genuine Housewives of Beverly Hills" star admitted to host Andy Cohen that she was blindsided by the finish of her marriage with David Foster.

"I didn't think that was the finish of the road," Hadid said. "I'd have hoped to wait until I got one hundred percent well."

Hadid and Foster announced the finish of their four-year marriage this past December. "Sadly we've decided to go our separate ways," the couple told People magazine at the time. "We've shared nine pretty and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that arrive with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues."

Hadid later said her chronic Lyme sickness played a role in the split.

In a preview for the upcoming "Genuine Housewives of Beverly Hills" reunion, which Cohen aired Tuesday, Foster says, "You can't underestimate how much it takes for a man to get care of somebody that'south ill all of the time. David didn't change; I'm the one that changed. And I guess this is the outcome of that."

She also defended her ex against criticism he received for appearing to leave while she was still sick.

"I don't think anybody should criticize that," she said.

For his part, Foster released a statement soon after their breakup announcement addressing the criticism.

"I've always had and continue to have the utmost respect and like for Yolanda, which is why it's so frustrating to look headlines questioning her chronic debilitating illness," he said in the statement to E! News.

"I've been by Yolanda'south side over the past four years to the best of my skill as she battled with the complexities of her Lyme diagnosis. I'm incredibly pleased of Yolanda'south determination and mission to discover a cure, and how intrepid and open she's been by sharing her legend in the hopes of changing the future for others."
