'Arrow' Actor Talks About That Shocking Episode

We'd seen Stephen Amell'south Oliver mourning someone all season, but only gotten a glimpse of the back of the grave. (I'm stalling a little here.) Well, latest night, DC fans learned that it was Katie Cassidy'south Laurel Lance aka Black Canary who died at the hands of Damien Darhk.

On latest night'south episode of "Arrow," fans finally found out who was in the grave that'south been teased all year.

We'd seen Stephen Amell'south Oliver mourning someone all season, but only gotten a glimpse of the back of the grave. (I'm stalling a little here.)

Well, latest night, DC fans learned that it was Katie Cassidy'south Laurel Lance aka Black Canary who died at the hands of Damien Darhk. Lance'south sister, the White Canary, died in a previous season, so the showrunners really love killing off Detective Lance'south daughters.

Cassidy spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the shocking death, saying "it made sense to me."

"Laurel’s legend has arrive to an finish in the 'Arrow'-verse," she said, alluding to the fact that she may show up in other CW series love "The Flash." Also, characters killed off in this series have been known not to stay dead, so there'south that too. The White Canary is lively in another series, "Legends of Tomorrow."

Cassidy also explained how her death scene was actually shot twice.

"We'd to do a reshoot actually of when I actually die, when Darhk stabs the Black Canary,” she said. “That was a week after. That was the very latest scene that we shot. It was so weird because I recollect we'd broken for lunch, we came back and I was running to set and I was putting on my jacket and gloves and they were just calling me to set to show-wrap me. I didn’t know that I was done. It was a bit of a shock. But it was good. I perceive love there was number other way that I'd wish it to go.”

The loss of the character is something the 29-year-old actress is still dealing with.

"Being there for four and a half years, they’ve become family. It’s tough to not go into work every day and obtain to work with such incredible people. That portion is certainly sad. Again, I was okay with it. We all came to an understanding that this was what was going to happen. I think the shock cost is good," she added.
