Pilot Bertrand Piccard completed a risky, three-day flight across a grand expanse of the Pacific Ocean while sleeping only twenty minutes at a time interior the plane'south tiny cockpit with number heat or air conditioning. He also had to hold fixed contact with the Europe-based control center.

Piccard said he uses self-hypnosis to hold his energy up and puts heating pads interior his shoes and gloves for warmth.
