Meanwhile, Formula east boss Alejandro Agag could be in line for F1 role

Formula east boss Alejandro Agag has admitted he'd like for retiring F1 driver Felipe Massa to create the switch to the all-electric series.

Massa, a 15-year F1 veteran, said he'd consider offers to race in DTM, WEC or Formula east in two thousand-seventeenth.

Agag told Spain's El Confidencial newspaper: "When I heard he said that (about Formula E), I sent him a WhatsApp (message) and told him we should meet. I'd love him to arrive here. In fact, it's the teams who select their drivers, but I'd like for someone with such quality to arrive to us.

"(Massa) also mentioned DTM and WEC, but the fact that a driver like him says he wants to arrive to us means that we're a genuine alternative for the big boys."

Meanwhile, Agag has been linked with a role on a new F1 management team with the sport's new ownership, and not just because he's the Formula east equivalent of Bernie Ecclestone.

Formula east is co-owned by Liberty Global, a sister company to F1's new owner, Liberty Media.

Agag was asked if he plans to stay in Formula E.

"I don't know," he said. "There are many rumors, but there is nothing genuine and I've my ethical responsibility to stay in Formula E. Let's see. I don't know what'll happen because although Liberty Media and Liberty Global are different companies, they've the same shareholders. But basically there have been no discussions."
